PLG Section: Litmus Test

Awesome. We've now re-iterated the product context and defined the problem statement to be solved via partnerships. Next step is to determine if your product is even ready for partnerships?

  1. Understanding the product
  2. Litmus test to understand if partnerships are the right for you
  3. Identify the right type of partnership
  4. Reaching out to potential partners
  5. Getting stakeholder buy-in
  6. Planning the GTM

Litmus test

Before deploying resources towards building partnerships, we need to understand if your product is even ready for praetorships. Answer the following questions in depth to understand:

  1. Do you have PMF?
  2. Are you finding it difficult to acquire new customers or enter a new market?
  3. Are you looking to drive power usage?
  4. Are there customer requests that can only be solved via partnerships?

If the answer to all of these questions is yes, then you can go ahead and start building partnerships.

But what happens if you don't have PMF?

Ideally, you should only explore partnerships once you have PMF. If you don't have PMF, your product or service is not mature enough to support the demand and you might start seeing a churn problem. That's a bet you need to take, if you can solve the churn problem before the demand dies down.
